FAQs

Why is the name different?

I've recently just changed my website provider from Squarespace to Shopify as it suits my needs better! This however meant that I had to add the 'illustration' to the end. I still do other stuff, though, just sayin'.

Why "Maggie and Tonks"?

When I started Maggie and Tonks it was with a pet portrait of my dog (Maggie) and my cat (Tonks). I only did custom portraits for the first 6 months and when I introduced a print and card range I chose to keep it! It's quirky and a bit strange, but reminds me of two little fur babes that make me happy and keep me motivated!

Do you still do the custom portraits and how do I order one?

I sure do! I just don't take on as many, so they aren't listed in my shop for the time being. If you'd like to order one, simply send me an email (maggieandtonks@yahoo.com) with a little bit about what you want, how many people and some reference photos and I'll get back to you with a quote and the wait time!

Do you take commissions?

Yes! I take on both Fine Art and Illustration commissions. Make sure you have a size and rough idea of what you want, as well as a realistic budget in mind! Send me an email with the information and I'll get you a quote and the piece underway!

I live in Adelaide, do I have to pay for postage or is there somewhere I can pick my order up from?

Not at all! Simply select the pick up option in the Shipping section and I'll be in touch to organise a collection of your order!

Why are there fine art paintings on this site now?

I've had a lot of different projects in the works over the 2 or so years I've been doing this art thing and I've decided to simplify it all a bit and add S.Burley Art and Design to Maggie and Tonks! It's also why I'm using my full name on my social medias now too, so it's easier to find!

Where can I find your stuff?

If it's in person, have a look at my events and stockist page. Otherwise, you can find all of my products in my shop and on Etsy as well!

What products do you use?

I use a wide variety of watercolour and paper/canvas brands, however I make sure I buy and print locally and from small businesses were I can in South Australia to keep money in our economy! It doesn't always work out that I can get the equipment that I need, but it's a conscious decision to support small retail in my home state! If you want specifics on brushes and paint brands or colours, check out the packs I offer in my shop or send me an email!
